Review: Soul Thief (UK: Forbidden) by Jana Oliver

Do not read the blurb if you haven't read book #1

Riley Blackthorne is beginning to learn that there are worse things than death by demon. And love is just one of them…

Seventeen-year-old Riley has about had it up to here. After the devastating battle at the Tabernacle, trappers are dead and injured, her boyfriend Simon is gravely injured, and now her beloved late father’s been illegally poached from his grave by a very powerful necromancer. As if that’s not enough, there's Ori, one sizzling hot freelance demon hunter who’s made himself Riley’s unofficial body guard, and Beck, a super over-protective “friend” who acts more like a grouchy granddad.  With all the hassles, Riley’s almost ready to leave Atlanta altogether.

But as Atlanta’s demon count increases, the Vatican finally sends its own Demon Hunters to take care of the city’s “little” problem, and pandemonium breaks loose. Only Riley knows that she might be the center of Hell’s attention: an extremely powerful Grade 5 demon is stalking her, and her luck can't last forever…

My Thoughts:

OH MY GOD! This book was AMAZING!!!!!! Absolutely AMAZING!

Jana Oliver did a great job with this novel.I loved this book.I would recommend this series so that people can read this novel. This book blew my mind!

The best part about this novel was the fact that it was unpredictable.I couldn't predict anything! The ending was so surprising and I loved the fact that the author doesn't hesitate to make the characters suffer.

I'm going to try to not give away any spoilers of the previous book in this novel.

If you've read the first novel you know what Riley did in the end.I for one was dying to know what would happen. Even though the author didn't reveal what "they" wanted from Riley in this book till the very end,so many twists and turns take place that you barely notice because you (or I for one) were too engrossed in what was happening to wonder for long about the consequences of Riley's decision in Book #1.

I decided which Team I'm going to support in this novel! It was a tough choice because I love all the guys in this series but I finally made my decision.I'm Team Beck! The characters are the stars of this series. I love almost all the characters and hate all the characters I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to hate.Beck and Riley show so much growth .I love both of them so much.Ori was a great guy too(There was a close competition between him and Beck in my heart)

The story was great in this novel. It was unpredictable! In Book #1 the story was a little weak but this book has a great story.

Overall, this book is amazing and I would recommend this book to everyone! Go BUY,borrow or beg for this one.

Note: I've read the entire series including book 4 and this is pretty much the best book in the series .The last book was very close to beating the AWESOMENESS that was this book though.

My Rating:
4.5/5

LOVED!

  2. I love this review! The weird thing is that this was my least favorite in the series, but I still liked it a lot, although I felt frustrated with Riley on several occasions. Book 3 is even better, and book 4 is mind-blowing.
    Again, great review.

  6. I really need to pick this series up. I've seen that so many love it. I love the UK cover more than the top one, which is funny because I see Jasprit's comment above (my co-blogger) and she prefers the top one (US?) Jasprit is from the UK and I'm from the US so we picked the opposite countries of each other. :)
