Dear Ash

This letter is part of a contest  hosted by the amazing author Julie Kagawa , who wrote The Iron Fey Series, which include The Iron King, The Iron Daughter, The Iron Queen, and the fourth book that isn't out, yet is The Iron Knight.
Here is the link to the contest, if you feel like entering. Julie Kagawa will explain to you all you have to do on  that page. Here is my letter to Ash and the reason I chose to write to him is because I love  and hate him at the same time.I also have a lot of questions to ask him.

Dear Ash,
I just read about meghan's adventures in a book called the Iron King. You've most probably never heard of it (yeah right!) and I would just like to say something that's been on my chest for a LONG time. Can you please just stop being so cruel to meghan because if you can't, just let her go! She can do way better than you because she's smart, courageous and cares for people.Girls like her just don't fall out of the sky, you know!

Hmm.... now that's off my chest....... I'd like to tell you that you ROCK! You can fight ....well (Ok,that sounds lame).Puck is mentally retarded and I love how you put him in his place and shut him up.He makes no sense! You ever thought of a very creative way in which you could kill him and no one would find out?Not that, I want you to kill him ,but still.

I can't beleve I'm writing to you.Though I rather doubt you will read it because lets face it...YOU are not the letter reading and replying kind of guy because you are not mushy and romantic .That reminds me , have you ever done anything romantic or been in a romantic place with a guy you hate?
Don't glare at me I'm just a teeny tiny bit curious.I'm not going to bore you with my rant of how I think that deep down you're a good guy and all that because I like you because you act like a total jerk bad guy.I just don't like the fact that you act like that with meghan. So ever thought of hugging puck for no reason ?

Your curious friend,
Krazzyme

PS: Ash what do you think of Julie Kagawa?Ever heard of her ?
PPS: I probably would have a lot more question if I had read the other two books! I want to read them so badly!! Ash have you ever given an exam?

Demonglass

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!
Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.

That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.

But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she? (goodreads.com)

This is the second book in the hex hall  trilogy and I don't care if you LOATHED  hex hall.YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!

What kind of girl looks into the face of the guy she loves after he says something extremely mushy and romantic and swoon worthy and say:
"Wow, Cross. I think you missed your calling. Screw demon hunting: you should clearly be writing Hallmark cards"

SOPHIE MERCER DOES.

Finally a book in which the main character(read girl) has a brain and actually uses it unlike some people(*cough* BELLA *cough*)
and I absolutely ADORE Cal.
THE ONLY THING  I did not like about this book is the fact that it ended with a cliffhanger and the next book releases some time next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE AGONY!
I will continue my rant on hex hall some other day.

The girl in the steel corset

The Girl in the Steel Corset (Steampunk Chronicles #1)

by Kady Cross

She thought there was something wrong with her. She was right.
Finley Jayne has known for quite some time that she isn’t ‘normal,’ but when she beats up the son of her employer and is forced to flee, she stumbles into a world where there are bigger freaks than her. They take her in, treat her like family and demand her trust. How can Finley trust them when she can’t trust herself? And why is she drawn to the powerful Griffin as well as the dangerous Jack? She has to get herself under control before she gets into trouble she can’t get out of.
Griffin King is one of the most powerful men in Britain but he couldn’t save his best friend from almost dying. He is determined to save Finley and help her become the person he knows she can be, but there’s evil afoot in London. Machines have attacked humans under the orders of a nefarious criminal called The Machinist. He has sworn to protect his country against such a threat, but he’s never faced any foe like this. However, when he discovers The Machinist’s connection to his past, Griffin vows to end the villain once and for all — but he’ll need the help of all his friends, including the beautiful Finley Jayne – the girl in the steel corset.

Amazing. That's one word for this book.

I <3 this book.
The story is original and it deals with superpowers.
Let me tell you one thing this book had me at superpowers!

The main character is not a caricature. You can feel her anxiety and instability.Finley has a heart and is going through a tough time in her life. Her power is also extraordinary. She has character. She just doesn't fall into the arms of her savior for no reason. She is REAL!

Griffin is a dream come true.I read this book for him. It's so refreshing that the male is actually NICE and not abusive or mentally unstable.(eg.Edward Cullen)He's not perfect but at least he's not a jerk.

Sam is the only person that I couldn't really relate to or understand but i guess he's supposed to be an inhuman character.

The only thing that confused me was when it was set. They have technology that surpasses the current century but the setting seems to be set in the Victorian era.I mean queen vicoria is not exactly alive right now is she?

Waiting on Wednesday (1)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.Hosted by Breaking the Spine

though she tries returning to the life she knew before the accident, Pierce can't help but feel at once a part of this world, and apart from it. Yet she's never alone . . . because someone is always watching her. Escape from the realm of the dead is impossible when someone there wants you back.
But now she's moved to a new town. Maybe at her new school, she can start fresh. Maybe she can stop feeling so afraid.
Only she can't. Because even here, he finds her. That's how desperately he wants her back. She knows he's no guardian angel, and his dark world isn't exactly heaven, yet she can't stay away . . . especially since he always appears when she least expects it, but exactly when she needs him most.
But if she lets herself fall any further, she may just find herself back in the one place she most fears: the Underworld.
Expected publication: April 26th 2011 by Scholastic Inc.

5 reasons why I'm waiting for this book:
1.Meg Cabot
2.Meg Cabot writing paranormal.AGAIN!
3.It has something to do with Hades(i.e Greek mythology!)

What a shame!

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I had very high expectations of this book after reading this book and sadly this book did not live upto my expectations even though the book had a unique concept. Here's a list of pros and cons of the book:

PROS:

1.the concept

Greek mythology is interpreted in a unique way .This is what made me finish this book.

2.Hades

hades is shown to be understanding and not mean or ruthless which is refreshing.

CONS:

1.Kate's relationships

This is a major drawback of the book.

How can a person you just met a day before be your best friend? Kate considered james her friend for no reason. He just comforted her when she was sad.She barely knows him but considers him her best friend!

and ....

How can you fight for a person without knowing them?Kate's relationship with Henry was unreal and unbeleivable. She was fighting for his life because she cared for him.Why did she care for him? He gave her a few minutes with her dying mother but why try so hard to save his life?Furthurmore, you dont just fall in love with someone so quickly and easily.Their relationship progressed too quickly.

The whole book is based on her relationship with Henry and sadly this is what brought the book down because you don't feel for the main characters.Their relationship just seems fake and unreal.

This concept had a lot of potential but unfortunately it wasn't implemented well.
