Are you ready to save the world? The bestselling series returns with an adventure spanning 6 explosive books, 2 secret-filled card packs, and a website that places readers right in the action.
Thirteen-year-old Dan Cahill and his older sister, Amy, thought they belonged to the world's most powerful family. They thought the hunt for 39 Clues leading to the source of that power was over. They even thought they'd won. But Amy and Dan were wrong.
One by one, distress calls start coming in from around the globe. Cahills are being kidnapped by a shadowy group known only as the Vespers. Now Amy and Dan have only days to fulfill a bizarre ransom request or their captured friends will start dying. Amy and Dan don't know what the Vespers want or how to stop them. Only one thing is clear. The Vespers are playing to win, and if they get their hands on the Clues . . . the world will be their next hostage.

My Thoughts:
OMG! The people who have Read The Maze of Bones(39 Clues Book #1)know how epic that book was but unfortunately the sequels did not live upto the EPICNESS that was the first book!
This book is AS Epic as Rick Riordan's Maze of Bones! I hope the rest of the spin off series is AS good as this book!
The author doesn't waste time trying to remind us of everything that has happened in the past and we get to meet Amy and Dan again! New characters are introduced but the focus is still on Amy and Dan (THANK GOD!)
Dan has changed and I'm not sure whether I like the new not-improved Dan so much...He's in a dark place and I realize why he's in such a place but that doesn't mean I have to like it!He's convinced that the only way to win against The Vespers is by making the serum and he doesn't care if an all out war breaks out as a consequence of his actions.
Amy has grown so much and I love the fact that she's becoming such a strong and independent woman! She's been preparing for an attack instead of whining in a corner. This new and improved Amy has been learning martial arts and has been sharpening her brain too! She also asked out a guy! So in the beginning of this novel Amy is actually dating a guy(GASP!)
The twists and turns are ample and I loved how we saw what was happening with the prisoners and I swear I was biting my lip at the *SPOILER* scene in which Nellie was being operated on *SPOILER*
ALL IN ALL I'd like to give this one a 5 BUT I think this book is a TAD on the expensive side and I finished it in like half a day! I'd recommend you get this from the library LIKE I DID! (and nag your librarian to get the second one like I will *smirks*)
