Review:Scarlet

Scarlet
 Blurb:
Many readers know the tale of Robin Hood, but they will be swept away by this new version full of action, secrets, and romance.

Posing as one of Robin Hood’s thieves to avoid the wrath of the evil Thief Taker Lord Gisbourne, Scarlet has kept her identity secret from all of Nottinghamshire. Only the Hood and his band know the truth: the agile thief posing as a whip of a boy is actually a fearless young woman with a secret past. Helping the people of Nottingham outwit the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham could cost Scarlet her life as Gisbourne closes in.

It’s only her fierce loyalty to Robin—whose quick smiles and sharp temper have the rare power to unsettle her—that keeps Scarlet going and makes this fight worth dying for.

My Thoughts:
The first word that comes to my mind when I think of this book is Amazing! This is one awesome book and I really wouldn't mind a sequel ....Actually I'm begging for one (A.C.Gaughen ,I hope you are listening!)

I've always been fascinated with the Robin Hood legend .So, when I found out that this book follows a woman who's part of the gang of thieves ,I was pretty skeptical because I was more interested in reading it from Robin's point of view than from a woman's but great reviews from other bloggers convinced me to give this one a shot (Thanks Jenny and Allison!)

I was sucked into this book right from the start and I loved almost every minute of it.It was impossible to put this book down...It's been too  long  since I've stayed awake for almost an entire night to finish a book  and I'm so glad that this book has gotten me out of my reading slump!

Scarlet is a very strong character. She doesn't want to get attached to anything or anybody and she also has an eating disorder(for lack of a better word). She also doesn't like to be judged as weak just because she's a girl.

From the start you figure out that Scarlet is hiding something aside from the fact that she's a girl (a secret, which Robin and the gang of thieves keep for her). You know that she's hiding something from everyone even Robin.Even though I was able to guess her secret it was still a surprise when my suspicions turned out to be true.

Robin is one character that I really liked in this book.I wanted to read some scenes from Robin's point of view so badly! (*HINT* *Hint* A.R.Gaughen!) He's such a noble and handsome guy! I loved the way he treated Scarlet and I absolutely loved the way the relationship between Scarlet and Robin blossomed.I have a new Boy CRUSH!

Something I was a little disappointed about was the way the book ended.I wanted a perfect fairytale like ending and wasn't happy about the fact that towards the end things got very gory.

Overall,This is one book everybody should read and I absolutely loved it! READ THIS BOOK!
I cannot believe this book is written by a debut author! If this is what A.C.Gaughen can cook up in her first book I cannot wait to read more of her work!

My Rating:
5/5

LOVED IT!

  2. YAY!!!!! I absolutely adored this book, so glad you did too! I agree on the sequel, I'm so hoping we get one! It felt like there was definitely enough left open at the end that it's a possibility. And I certainly wouldn't mind some scenes from Robin's point of view!

  3. I LOVE when a book is so good it keeps you up half the night. Okay, so you might not feel that way when you wake up sleep deprived in the morning haha. But it's SO worth it! Scarlet sounds like an incredible protagonist and oh, I am already a fan of Robin! I am so excited to read this, even more so now after your gushing review! :)
