Kimberly Ann Miller
Triangles, Spencer Hill Press, June 2013
Could you start things off by telling us a little about the book?
Here is the blurb:
A cruise ship. A beautiful
island. Two sexy guys. What could possibly go wrong?
In the Bermuda Triangle—a lot.
Hoping to leave behind the reminders of her crappy life--her father's death years ago, her mother's medical problems, and the loser who’s practically stalking her--seventeen-year-old Autumn Taylor hops on a ship with her sister for a little distraction. When she wakes up in the Bermuda Triangle, she fears she's gone nuts for more than one reason: that loser’s suddenly claiming they're a happy couple... a hot guy is wrapping his arms around her and saying "Happy Anniversary"... and suddenly, she’s full of bruises, losing her hair, and getting IV medication. Autumn visits the ship's doctor, hoping for a pill or a shot to make the craziness go away. Instead, she's warned that these "alternate realities" could become permanent.
She just has to ask herself one question—how the hell is she going to get out of this mess?

Why the Bermuda triangle?
I love Bermuda and have been
there several times. I wanted to write something unique and different, and the
Bermuda Triangle seemed like a great idea!
What influences and inspirations (both literary and non-literary) did you
draw from while writing this book?
I’ve read a lot of YA books
over the past four or so years from a lot of great authors. I can’t say any one
author influenced my writing, but I tried to take what I liked from various
styles and use them in my books. I also used a lot of great how-to books, like
First Draft in 30 Days by Karen S. Wiesner.
Who is your favorite character in this book, and why?
Joey’s my favorite character.
He’s the kind of guy I would have loved to have met in high school—loving,
sweet, loyal, kind, and protective.
What books/genres do you read when you have the chance? Any must read
authors or series?
I love YA, true crime, and
some adult paranormal romance and thrillers. For YA readers, one of my faves is
Jennifer Armentrout and her Lux and Covenant series. For true crime readers,
Ann Rule is the best. For adult paranormal romance, I love Gena Showalter and
the Lords of the Underworld. There are many more great ones, but these are my
top recommendations!
Can you tell us a little about the main characters in your book?
I’ve done a six month
countdown to the release of Triangles on my blog and introduced each of the
main characters there. Please feel free to read their intros here: http://writersbytheshore.blogspot.com/
Do you have a favorite scene or line from your book?
My favorite scenes are the
ones where Joey and Marcus fight over Autumn. They were so much fun to write!
Tell us five interesting things about yourself.
1. I love cats.
2. My husband and I plan
vacations around meteor showers because we love watching them.
3. I love blasting music in
the car and singing to it with the windows down on beautiful days. 4. I love
thunderstorms.
5. My favorite season is the
fall.
What's next?

Triangles, Parallel Triangles, is in the works, as well as a YA contemporary
