I recently found out that The Vincent Boys series by Abbi Glines has been picked up by Simon Pulse and has got new covers :).
DON'T FORGET you can enter to win a paperback copy of either The Vincent Boys or Vincent Brother by Abbi Glines on the blog (most probably with the old covers but still!)
Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parents and playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect, a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer, it’s his cousin Beau who catches Ashton’s eye. Beau is the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, and even though he’s dangerous, Ashton is drawn to him.
Beau loves his cousin like a brother, so the last thing he wants to do is make a move on Sawyer’s girl. Ashton is off-limits, absolutely. That’s why he does his best to keep his distance, even though he’s been in love with her forever. When Ashton wants to rekindle their childhood friendship in Sawyer’s absence, Beau knows he should say no.
Ashton and Beau don’t want to hurt Sawyer. But the more they try to stay away from each other, the more intense their urges become. It’s getting way too hard to resist....

My only problem with the new blurb is Fifty Shades of Grey meets Jenny Han's summer series.... WHY??? WHY are you comparing a YA book to Fifty Shades of Grey?? I've read this book and it's not erotica PLUS I've read the summer series and the only common point I can see is that both the guys are brothers and it's a contemporary novel. This is like The Selection being compared to The Hunger Games..

Blurb:
Fifty Shades of Grey meets Jenny Han’s Summer series in this sizzling account of attraction and betrayal. There was something wicked about Beau that drew me to him. What was wrong with me? Why did I want to sin so badly

SO HERE you have both the new covers (side by side)
I actually prefer the previous covers. I think they are making the books look to racey, especially with comparing it to Fifty Shades of Grey. I know my parents and me as well wouldn't want to see me reading books with covers and blurbs like that :3 it's just my opinion but I do prefer the first covers :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. I've only read The Vincent Boys but it was nothing like 50 Shades (or well... the 40% or so I actually managed to read before rolling my eyes and putting it away). I can't say anything about the other comparison because I've never heard of that book.
ReplyDeleteThe old covers made it look fun and like a great summer read, which for me it was. I really enjoyed it. The new covers make the books look like just another romance novel with a piece of hunk on the front. I think the old ones stood out more, also because of the colors.
