Review: Touch by Jus Accardo

 BLURB:
When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.

Except there's something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she'll turn to dust if he touches her.

It's not until Dez's father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there's more to this boy, and her father's "law firm," than she realized. Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation -- an organization devoted to collecting "special" kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons -- his entire life.

And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills.

The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they're caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.

My Thoughts:

I first heard about this book thanks to the awesome author Jennifer Armentrout.I didn't have any expectations from this book and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

This book BLEW my mind.I LOVED THIS BOOK!

The concept is pretty fresh even though it reminds you a little bit of mutants(from X-men) and the writing is fantastic!

This book focuses on  Deznee a girl who runs into a mysterious guy and decides to help him.Things take a turn for the worst when her father comes home and seems to know who and what mysterious guy is.What follows is a lot of action!

Lets talk characters...

Dez
I really liked her.I could really connect with her and I really loved this girl's style(not literally) ! She's smart, courageous and willing to take risks.Even though she first decides to help out Kale(a.k.a mysterious guy) to piss off her dad I loved the fact that she didn't back off when the going got tough. She's a prime example of people who take this line as their motto :

"When the going gets tough, the tough get tougher"

Kale
*DReammmmmmy*
*SWOON WORTHY*
*Aaaaah I LOVE THIS GUY*
He's such a different type of guy! It's nice to see that some guys ,especially in books, can still surprise me! I loved this guy's innocence and the fact that even though sometimes he came off as naive..he really got the deep stuff of life.He reminded me that sometimes human beings themselves complicate things by over-thinking and over-analyzing them.Sometimes looking at the world with new and fresh eyes is all it takes to enjoy it.
I would urge all of you to read this book just to get introduced to this amazing and drool-worthy character

Alex
Usually I love one guy and hate another in this book but for some reason I just couldn't get myself to hate this guy.He isn't innocent and his motivations might be shady but this guy's been through a LOT and hasn't caught a break. He's complicated and I like that where on one end Kale is very simple and easy to understand ,Alex isn't.

One thing I really liked this book is that there were two guys and one girl but I never thought that it was a love triangle.I was very surprised when....(sorry that would be a spoiler)... let's just say I was very surprised when I saw that people considered it to be love triangle.

I loved the twists and turns in this book. While I could predict some of them a lot of the twists caught me by surprise!

Overall, the story was intriguing and the characters added  life to this book. I cannot wait to get my hands on Toxic!

FYI: don't worry guys there's no cliffhanger!
Also I've recommended this for older teenagers due to sexual content.

My Rating:
5/5

(LOVED IT!)

I'm featuring this book this month!

A meme hosted by me in which I highlight books that
people have never heard of.They could be by  Indie authors or just books that were released but didn't leave a mark. They could even be books that are yet to be released.

  1. This sounds awesome! I love strong female characters (Dez sounds like my kind of girl!), and the magic/paranormal aspect sounds like it makes for an interesting story. I would love to pick this one up. Great review!
