She's blonde! Did I mention the fact that The Hunger Games is an AMAZING book and the fact that they were going to ruin the movie had me almost in tears! But this picture(below) has given me hope! This picture shows the spirit of The Hunger Games.

Waiting on Wednesday (4) Double edition :P

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to highlight upcoming releases we're anxiously awaiting!
This week I'm highlighting 2 books as I might not be able to post anything next week!

Uncommon Criminals

(Heist Society #2)

Katarina Bishop has worn a lot of labels in her short life. Friend. Niece. Daughter. Thief. But for the last two months she’s simply been known as the girl who ran the crew that robbed the greatest museum in the world. That’s why Kat isn’t surprised when she’s asked to steal the infamous Cleopatra Emerald so it can be returned to its rightful owners.

There are only three problems. First, the gem hasn’t been seen in public in thirty years. Second, since the fall of the Egyptian empire and the suicide of Cleopatra, no one who holds the emerald keeps it for long, and in Kat’s world, history almost always repeats itself. But it’s the third problem that makes Kat’s crew the most nervous and that is simply… the emerald is cursed.

Kat might be in way over her head, but she’s not going down without a fight. After all she has her best friend—the gorgeous Hale—and the rest of her crew with her as they chase the Cleopatra around the globe, dodging curses, realizing that the same tricks and cons her family has used for centuries are useless this time.

Which means, this time, Katarina Bishop is making up her own rules.

I found Heist Society to be a fun read and I love the shades! Don't you?

The other book I can't wait to get my hands on is.....

Fury (Fury #1)

The first book in a paranormal teen trilogy featuring three beautiful, mysterious girls wreaking havoc on a small New England town.

Sometimes sorry isn't enough....

It’s winter break in Ascension, Maine. The snow is falling and everything looks pristine and peaceful. But not all is as it seems...

Between cozy traditions and parties with her friends, Emily loves the holidays. And this year’s even better--the guy she’s been into for months is finally noticing her. But Em knows if she starts things with him, there’s no turning back. Because his girlfriend is Em’s best friend.

On the other side of town, Chase is having problems of his own. The stress of his home life is starting to take its toll, and his social life is unraveling. But that’s nothing compared to what’s really haunting him. Chase has done something cruel...something the perfect guy he pretends to be would never do. And it’s only a matter of time before he’s exposed.

In Ascension, mistakes can be deadly. And three girls—three beautiful, mysterious girls—are here to choose who will pay.

Em and Chase have been chosen.

The cover is nothing very great but the summary is VERY interesting.I just hope it doesn't become part of the paranormal-bore pile.

So what are you waiting on this Wednesday??

Top Ten Tuesday:Minor Character I love (1)

This meme is hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's Top Ten Tuesday is about those minor characters that you love! They can be a side character or even someone who was only in the book for one page! Name 'em!
So in no particular order .....
  1. Angela from Twilight saga.I fell in love with this character while reading midnight sun.I realized she's the most normal person in the entire series and I love her for that
  2. Foaly from Artemis fowl.I love his sense of humor! He's the only person as smart as artemis and he has a wicked brain! His paranoia about everything is so freaky.
  3. Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter series. Her quirkiness just makes you want to love her! I loved how she was potrayed in the movies too.Evanna Lynch is perfect for the role.Dont you think so?
  4. Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments series. You just need to read the TMI short story to understand why he's such a likable character. His interactions with Alec makes me crack up.
  5. Cinna from The Hunger Games. The upbeat fashion designer for Katniss and Peeta. He stands out because he's the only positive and happy person in the entire novel who isn't evil or doomed to die.
  6. Ian from The Host. He's not exactly a minor character but he seems to be because he's hardly there in the book!(*cries* ok,I might be exaggerating a teeny-tiny bit). He's supportive, is not a savage and is not downright evil (I'm looking at you Jared!).Melanie is blind is all I can say! BLIND!
  7. Alice from The Twilight saga (again).I love her OK! Don't judge me for this but I just love her!
  8. Nick from The Secret Circle.Quiet and composed this character just stood out in the series.I personally liked him much more than Adam but I also think Adam is a weak character so you might not agree with me.
  9. Paul slater from The mediator series.Yes,I do know that he's evil but I like him because he's evil.
  10. Luke striker from Teen Idol

Waiting on Wednesday (3)

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine  to highlight upcoming releases we're anxiously awaiting!

Half -Blood(Covenant #1)

Summary:The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure-bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.

Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:

Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.

Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Sounds interesting,right?
Daimon, the prequel to this book is already out.You can buy it here.
but it is available for free download at http://www.site.spencerhillpress.com/Daimon.php
Books Complete Me is giving away a signed daimon poster (internationally!).
Here,is the cover of daimon.

Aren't both the covers pretty?
Also if you live in the US,AU,GB,CA goodreads is giving away a copy of half-blood.Check it out here.
I really love the covers.I know they say "don't judge a book by the cover",but the cover being easy on the eye helps me to enjoy a book more!

The Clockwork Angel By Cassandra Clare

Magic is dangerous--but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by--and torn between--two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all(source: goodreads.com)

To cut a long story short: Girl falls for  a guy not good for her instead of  the better guy.

I love the cover of this book and the summary made me very excited but sadly this book did not live upto my expectations.Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments(TMI) series was pretty good and this book is supposed to be a prequel to that series. If you have read TMI ,I would suggest you skip this book without a second thought.

This book reminded me of City Of Bones ,actually it seemed to be a retelling of City of Bones, with a twist and the same type of characters .Will reminded me of Jace.He was arrogant and kept to himself.I had to keep on checking to make sure that I wasn't reading a description of Jace because the similarities are uncanny.Tessa is independent but again I get a sense of deja vu when I read about her.

Jem is the only reason I even bothered to finish this book. The 2 stars are for him.

The first few chapters were fresh, the ending was unpredictable but the characters seemed to be caricatures of the original series. The world depicted in this series is already well known.

If you have other more interesting options  on your shelf, you'd be better off reading them.

My rating:

Waiting on Wednesday (2)

Soul Thief (The Demon Trappers #2)

by Jana Oliver

Riley Blackthorne’s adventures continue in the second spellbinding Demon Trappers novel, as she battles demons… and a love that could destroy her
At the start of the second thrilling installment of the Demon Trappers series, 17-year-old Riley Blackthorne has about had it up to here. After the devastating battle at the Tabernacle, trappers are dead and injured, her sweet boyfriend Simon is gravely injured, and now her beloved late father’s been illegally poached from his grave by a very powerful necromancer. Add to the mix: Ori, one sizzling hot freelance demon hunter who’s made himself Riley’s unofficial body guard, and Beck, a super over-protective “friend” who acts more like a grouchy granddad, and Riley’s almost ready to leave Atlanta altogether.
But as the demon count in Atlanta increases, the already crippled Trappers Guild has its hands full, and, when the Vatican finally sends its own Demon Hunters to take care of the city’s “little” problem, pandemonium breaks loose. Only Riley knows that she might be the center of Hell’s attention: an extremely powerful Grade 5 demon is stalking her, and her luck can't last forever. As Riley’s life becomes a dangerous balancing act, will she be strong enough not to tip? And who will be there to catch her if she falls?

Expected publication: August 30th 2011 by St. Martin's Griffin (first published August 5th 2011)

I love the cover! It's so mystical and blue! I read Demon Trapper's daughter or
Forsaken and found it to be a decent read.I thought maybe the second book will
be better.I mean Hex hall was a disappointment but Demonglass(see reviewmade up
for it.

Check out the UK cover for the same book:
