Review:Untouched

Untouched (Denazen #1.5)
Until he met Dez, Kale’s days were filled with violence and death. He was used as a weapon of destruction by the power hungry men of Denazen. He’s a Six. A person with an abnormal ability. Some people call them gifts, but not Kale. Kale’s touch means instant death.

But now there’s Dez, the girl he can touch, and they’re hunting down Sixes and warning them about Denazen. Kale is learning about the world outside captivity and trying to put his dark past behind him. But they underestimated how badly Denazen wanted him back.

When Dez sacrifices herself to save the new Six they’d rescued from falling into the corp’s hands, Kale is lost. Denazen has brought out its best to get the job done. Samsen, a nightmare from Kale’s past—the only person he’s ever truly feared—has come for them, and it soon becomes obvious he has his own twisted agenda.

Kale will need all his training to get Dez back and ensure they make it out, free—and alive. But will it be enough?

My Thoughts:
This is a short novella from Kale's point of view.

I liked this story.I've always wanted to get inside Kale's head and I thought we could really see why he's so attached to Dez in this novella.

This book was short but I had fun reading it.Dez was as awesome as ever and Samsen is a pretty scary villain .

To tell you the truth this book didn't really quench my need for Toxic (book 2 ) because pretty much nothing that is very important to the main story-line takes place in this book (I can't be sure about that till I read book 2).

I liked getting inside Kale's head and seeing that he's not as innocent as he comes across and he can be pretty scary.I also liked getting to know Samsen,a person who's from his past and realize that there's a VERY good reason that he hates Denazen so much.

I think after reading this book I've realized that I wouldn't mind if parts of Toxic or Book 3  are written from Kale's point of view ..........but I like experiencing the main story  from Dez's point of view a little bit more because she's a little  LOT more crazy than Kale and I can connect with Dez a little bit more.

Overall,I'd recommend people to read this novella to get a peak into how Kale thinks and to  those looking for a fun and light read .Plus it's only $0.99 .BUT if you have more money to spare I'd recommend you buy Touch (THAT BOOK IS AWESOME) or If you've already read that pre-order Toxic.

Daemon Invasion

Over the last couple of weeks, you’ve heard us talking about the upcoming #daemoninvasion and we’re so excited to finally share with you what is going on.
Really excited.

The beautiful and uber cool models, Pepe Toth and Sztella Tziotziosz, who grace the Lux covers, will be joining us in the United States!  You heard right.  They are flying here, from Hungary to spend a few days as Daemon and Katy! While they are here, they will be working with Vania, from VLC Productions (the team behind Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments, Melissa de La Cruz, Kimberly Derting, Moira Young, Kami Garcia and Margret Stohl, Hillary Duff, Lauren Destefano, and many, many more authors’ book trailers), to film book trailers for the Lux Series.

During the filming in Atlanta, they will be accompanying us on tour! What does that mean? You get to meet them. In the flesh. They will be participating in the signings and events. At those signings, we’ll be giving away signed posters, photos, and other swag. There will also be meet and greet events you can join in on.

At each signing, there will be advanced copies of Onyx given away!

And to top things off (as if this isn’t enough, but we don’t do anything small), there’s something very, very exciting in the works! It involves advanced copies of Opal, water, and a little destination known as the Bahamas.

I am not kidding.

This will be epic.

Aare you excited? I am! This tour is going to be so, so much fun, and I’m so thrilled that Pepe and Sztella are a part of it. We owe them a huge thank you and a giant welcome making the 16 hour flight to meet the readers of the Lux Series.  You!

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to highlight upcoming releases we're anxiously awaiting! This week I am waiting on....

Darkness Before Dawn (Darkness Before Dawn #1)

This electrifying new trilogy blends the best of paranormal and dystopian storytelling in a world where the war is over. And the vampires won.

Humans huddle in their walled cities, supplying blood in exchange for safety. But not even that is guaranteed. Dawn has lost her entire family and now reluctantly serves as the delegate to Lord Valentine, the most powerful vampire for miles. It isn’t until she meets Victor, Valentine’s son, that she realizes not all vampires are monsters....

Darkness Before Dawn is a fresh new story with captivating characters, unexpected plot twists, a fascinating setting, and a compelling voice. Written under the name J. A. London by a talented mother-son team, the trilogy is perfect for fans of True Blood and the House of Night and Morganville Vampires series.

Expected publication: May 29th 2012 by HarperTeen

The Hunt (The Hunt #1)
Don’t Sweat.  Don’t Laugh.  Don’t draw attention to yourself.  And most of all, whatever you do, do not fall in love with one of them.

Gene is different from everyone else around him.  He can’t run with lightning speed, sunlight doesn’t hurt him and he doesn’t have an unquenchable lust for blood.  Gene is a human, and he knows the rules.  Keep the truth a secret.  It’s the only way to stay alive in a world of night—a world where humans are considered a delicacy and hunted for their blood.

When he’s chosen for a once in a lifetime opportunity to hunt the last remaining humans, Gene’s carefully constructed life begins to crumble around him.  He’s thrust into the path of a girl who makes him feel things he never thought possible—and into a ruthless pack of hunters whose suspicions about his true nature are growing. Now that Gene has finally found something worth fighting for, his need to survive is stronger than ever—but is it worth the cost of his humanity?

Quotable Quotes with Jus Accardo +GIVEAWAY!

Today I have Jus Accardo over at the blog and she's talking about quotes....

A great quote can be inspirational. It can make us laugh, or swoon. It can make us feel connected when we’re lonely. A quote is the perfect example of the power words can hold. They can come from anywhere. Movies, books, people… I thought today I’d share some of my favorites with you.

Let’s start with people. Some of my absolute favorites come from Lord Byron.
For truth is always strange; stranger than fiction – Simple and says it all. This describes my life perfectly. Example? My 60 something year old neighbor mowing the lawn at midnight wearing nothing but a red Speedo. Seriously. You can’t make this stuff up…

If I don't write to empty my mind, I go mad – My brain is a random idea generator. Some pan out, others get filed away in a WTF were you thinking folder. Either way though, I need to get them out. If I don’t, it gets really crowded in there…

And what about movies? Everything from creepy to hilarious. Movie quotes stick with us.

I’ll be back... – You know you think badass, unstoppable killing machine when you hear that.

I see dead people – Tell me you didn’t get the chills when you saw Haley Joel Osment turn to Bruce Willis and confess his big secret?

I want my two dollars! – I don’t care how old you are, if you don’t know this quote, a small part of me just died…

Of course I saved the best for last. The book quotes. Funny, swoontastic, and all around awesome! I’ve seen everything from t-shirts to tattoos honoring these puppies. A few weeks ago, I even saw a van that had Jacob’s face (Twilight) and I'm gonna fight for you, until your heart stops beating airbrushed across the driver’s side. On the passenger’s side, Edward's face and Look after my heart - I've left it with you. Crazy, right?

Pick up your clothes. I am not your maid. How do I know this? A maid cannot kill you with a tube sock. I can. – If you haven’t read Rob Thurman’s Cal Leandros series, you need to snap it up ASAP. There are so many awesome one liners, it will make your head spin.

She's even more disconcerted when she learns that six groups in the class will be writing and directing their very own horror movies.

Brin and five classmates travel to Bodie Ghost Town in California to shoot their creepy film, but they soon find themselves fighting a real terrifying threat when a clan of mean, bloodthirsty vampires emerge from beneath the surface and start attacking the group. The teens, headed by Brin and the egotistical director Anaya Frost, have no help from the outside and become outnumbered by the vampires a hundred to one.

But when Brin meets Paul, a helpful and smoldering vampire outcast who's had enough of his shameful life, she realizes he might be the only key to her survival.

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to highlight upcoming releases we're anxiously awaiting! This week I am waiting on....

The Selection (The Selection #1)
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

I really want to see if this book is good! I LOVE the cover and it seems like a fun and light read .

Insurgent (Divergent #2)
One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian Divergent series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature
I'm pretty sure LOADS of people are dying to read this book and even though I wasn't a HUGE OMG fangirl of Divergent(see review), I want to see what happens next.PLUS....

Review:Fall From Grace

Fall from Grace
 Blurb:
Grace always has a plan. There’s her plan to get famous, her plan to get rich, and—above all—her plan to have fun.

Sawyer has plenty of plans too. Plans made for him by his mother, his father, his girlfriend. Maybe they aren’t his plans, but they are plans.

When Sawyer meets Grace, he wonders if he should come up with a few plans himself. Plans about what he actually wants to be, plans to speak his own mind for a change, plans to maybe help Grace with a little art theft.

Wait a minute—plans to what?

Expected Publication:May 8th 2012

Links:Goodreads,Amazon,BN,BD,Flipkart

Source:Edelweiss(Thank you HarperCollins! )

Note: Younger Readers strongly cautioned .

My Thoughts:

I'm still reeling from the ending of this book.

When I read the blurb for the first time I thought that it would be a book about art theft (like Heist Society ) but I was wrong. This book is about Sawyer and his life .Even though I was a little disappointed that this book wasn't a novel in which the characters were criminals ,I really liked this book.

This book basically deals with Sawyer and his issues.Sawyer is a bit of a pushover and his parents have basically planned out his entire life for him.His girlfriend has also planned out their entire future and she's pretty much in control of his personal life.

Here's what he knew -he had a direction and he had a plan. They weren't his,but they seemed to be working. And he had a hot girlfriend and a car of his own and a future as an insurance actuary. What was he complaining about? He had it good.
He knew all that.
But it didn't make that feeling go away.
-20% of E-ARC.Fall From Grace (This is from the uncorrected e-proof it can be changed )

I could really relate to Sawyer.I've met so many people who are in the same boat  as him .The sad part is that Sawyer knows that his parents are in control while the people that I know are in denial.I didn't like the fact that Sawyer wasn't digging his heels in and making a stand but with the parents the guy had,I couldn't really blame him. There were times when I wanted to spank him and tell him to just STAND UP FOR HIMSELF but there were also times when I  was sympathizing with him.The guy doesn't have a clue what he wants for himself and I can relate to that .

Grace is one character that I have mixed feelings about too.I liked her more than Sawyer of course but I can't say I connected with her as much (It could be because this book is told from Sawyer's perspective) .One thing I really liked about her was the fact that she did what she wanted to do and didn't have any regrets.I loved her attitude towards life and even though sometimes I thought she was pretty crazy ,I really admired her spirit.

One thing I'm not quite sure about is the writing style.I had a hard time warming upto it ,even when I was engrossed in the story.

There were times when I was really frustrated with the side characters (I think the author wanted us to be ) but the end really surprised me.All I can say is that this book is painfully realistic and I really liked that about it!

My Rating :
3.5/5

Was very close to giving this one 4 stars
