My Thoughts on Perfect Scoundrels

Perfect Scoundrels (Heist Society #3)

Katarina Bishop and W.W. Hale the fifth were born to lead completely different lives: Kat comes from a long, proud line of loveable criminal masterminds, while Hale is the scion of one of the most seemingly perfect dynasties in the world. If their families have one thing in common, it’s that they both know how to stay under the radar while getting—or stealing—whatever they want.

No matter the risk, the Bishops can always be counted on, but in Hale’s family, all bets are off when money is on the line. When Hale unexpectedly inherits his grandmother’s billion dollar corporation, he quickly learns that there’s no place for Kat and their old heists in his new role. But Kat won’t let him go that easily, especially after she gets tipped off that his grandmother’s will might have been altered in an elaborate con to steal the company’s fortune. So instead of being the heir—this time, Hale might be the mark.

Forced to keep a level head as she and her crew fight for one of their own, Kat comes up with an ambitious and far-reaching plan that only the Bishop family would dare attempt. To pull it off, Kat is prepared to do the impossible, but first, she has to decide if she’s willing to save her boyfriend’s company if it means losing the boy.

My Thoughts:

I usually give a star rating to books but sometimes it's just to hard to classify a book under a specific rating. I couldn't decide with Divergent and I can't decide with this book as well so I'm not going to give this book a star rating,I'm just going to write my thoughts.

Perfect Scoundrels keeps you hooked till the end but unlike the previous book it doesn't leave you befuddled. I had VERY high expectations from this novel.

Kat and Hale are two characters who have been tip toeing across one another for two books now . I would have liked to have read about them being a normal(or as normal as they can be) happy couple for some time but their relationship(?) is put to the test almost from the start of this novel.

Bones(TV series) Comparison/RANT here :
Spoilers for TV series
The development of Kat and Hale's relationship was almost as disappointing as the relationship of Booth and Brennan. I was so disappointed when they(Bones creators/writers) skipped the entire OH-MY-GOSH-WE'RE-OFFICIALLY-A-COUPLE-NOW.They JUST fast forwarded to OH-MY-GOSH-WE'RE-HAVING-A-BABY-NOW! Atleast Bones and Booth had A LOT of happy and cute couple like moments . I DEMAND HAPPY and couple like moments for Kat and Hale before they're all 'This isn't working out '

RANT ENDS

One thing that was a little irritating was the emotional drama. At first it was nice but by the end of the book I just wanted it to be over.

The best thing about this novel is the fact that at first things seem very simple. All I could think at the beginning was "pfft.. this is too simple"
BUT then things get VERY COMPLICATED and if you miss a sentence you won't realize what just happened.

The pacing of this novel is great and I loved getting to know more about Hale's family. Some parts of the book were hilarious (Well, I found them to be so ) and I just loved the whole family dynamic and the NUMEROUS twists and turns.

The most disappointing thing about this book is the fact that it MAY be the last book in the series. Ally Carter is not contracted currently to write any more Heist Society novels.I really hope there are more Heist Society novels. I really enjoy this series. It's also got universal appeal. Children aged 12 and above can read it.

Overall, This is a great addition to the Heist Society series .It's not as good as Uncommon Criminals and it's definitely not the BEST end to the series but it keeps you hooked till the end and wanting more.

Don't Let It End

And In this case I REALLY HOPE this IS NOT the end because if it is...

  1. OH man I so have to read this series! I even got this one for review so it's like a sign, right? lol but really it sounds right up my alley and all 3 books are highly enjoyed and that's not always the case for a series so props to Ally! Good to know about not missing even a sentence though I'll be sure to keep my head in the game >.<

  2. I have a feeling there are quite a few happy couple moments ahead of us! It's a younger YA series, so I kind of took it in stride. I just love that they showed their more emotional side here.
    Great review.

  4. I have been super frustrated by the romance in the previous books and have had high hopes that SOMETHING finally happens. I have seen a lot of reviews saying that things finally start happening. I actually am very pleased with some good twists and turns as well. I'm watching for this one at the library.

  5. I haven't read this one yet because I wasn't thrilled with the second book. I didn't hate it or anything but it wasn't a love that would make me lust for the next book. But I think I'll have to check out #3!
