Happy Birthday Abbi Glines! + GIVEAWAY!

So Today is Abbi Glines Birthday. Who is Abbi Glines you ask?

Why she is an author that has come a long way and whose works I enjoy. So on this day I would like to wish her

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I want to talk about Abbi and how I got introduced to her and subsequently became a fan.

Abbi was one of the first few authors to contact me with a review request. She requested me to review her novel Breathe on 25th June 2011.

Breathe wasn't Abbi's best work but it was an interesting novel with a nice story.

I decided to keep an eye out for this author.

Later on I signed up for The Vincent Boys blog tour. The rest as they say, is history!
I loved The Vincent Boys !

I have been a fan since I finished reading that book.

I had read The Vincent Boys  when it was self published and at that time not many people used to notice a book if it was self published. I wanted The Vincent Boys to get published by a known publisher so that everyone could get their hands on it easily.

I WAS SO HAPPY when the entire series was picked up by Simon and Schuster!

Now Simon and Schuster is publishing almost all of her books and I couldn't be happier!

I hope you keep writing great stuff Abbi!

Many Happy returns of the day!

Now, Lets get down to business. My book blog is TWO years old!

THAT'S RIGHT YOUNG READERS IS
TWO YEARS
OLD!

I had originally started blogging and called my blog krazzyme-krool in 2009 but I had thought about writing a personal blog. That WAS a disaster. I blogged once in 6 months I think but then I decided to do something different....

I joined Goodreads and THAT opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
At first I used to use the goodreads template on my blog and my focus was on Goodreads and not my blog because nobody knew about my blog.

My FIRST review on the blog  was in my opinion pretty bad :P

People actually started discovering my blog slowly. Meme's like Waiting on Wednesday and my first giveaway hop through I Am A Reader really helped me to get my blog out there.

The fact that I managed to last two years still manages to surprise me.

This is all thanks to you guys! I LOVE YOU ALL . Your support has helped me to keep blogging for so long

Review: But Ira Said

But Ira Said
 I can predict question papers.

There, I have your attention now. It’s true, I can. My name is Ira Bhatt and I’ve just told you my biggest secret. To be honest, it’s not much of a secret any more. It all started when I sat for an exam once, without studying for it, and got full marks. I wish I could say I’m a prodigy, but I’m not. I’ve just got superpowers.

That’s like the best thing ever. Not. Throw in a gang of friends desperate for help and the evil Five Star chocolate addict who heads the tuition centre, and it’s the perfect set-up for one disaster after the other.

Delicious, hilarious, and uber cool, But Ira Said is the story of a girl everyone would want to be – or would they?

My Thoughts:

The blurb for this book sparked my curiosity and I couldn't stop myself from requesting this book.

Being able to predict question papers? Thats a superpower I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t mind having . Oh the amount of time I spent fantasising about having this superpower ! What a coincidence that I got this book JUST before my exams ,eh?

But Ira said is a fun and short novel that’s told in a unique Indian style . It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book written by an Indian author and it’s nice to see that some books are being written for the youth.

I loved the whole feel of the novel. The ridiculous characters, interesting concept , the mocking of the tuition centres and the whole unique style of this novel made it a fun read!

The thing is , the slang and the whole ridiculousness of the characters couldn’t actually draw away from the fact that I couldn’t connect or care about the main character and her “friends” and I use the word friends very loosely. Towards the end the book dragged a little as well and became a little preachy towards the end as well but it did manage to get it’s point across.

The concept had a lot of potential and I guess I was a little disappointed with the direction in which the story progressed.

Overall, this was a fun one time read that made me want to get my hands on some Anuja Chauhan real quick. I would borrow this one just because of the concept and the quirky characters. Just don't have very high hopes on this one and you'll enjoy yourself.

My Rating
 3 /5

Needs work but enjoyable.

Review + GIVEAWAY: Drew + Fable Series by Monica Murphy

MORE about Book #1

One Week Girlfriend (Drew + Fable #1)
Temporary. That one single word best describes my life these last few years. I’m working at a temporary job until I can finally break free. I’m my little brother’s temporary mother since our mom doesn’t give a crap about either of us. And I’m that temporary girl all the guys want to get with because I give it up so easily. According to the rumors, at least.

But now I’m the temporary girlfriend of Drew Callahan, college football legend and all around golden guy. He’s beautiful, sweet—and he’s hiding way more secrets than I am. He’s brought me into this fake life where everyone seems to hate me. And everyone seems to want something from him. The only thing he seems to want though is…

Me.

I don’t know what to believe anymore. All I know is, I think Drew needs me. And I want to be there for him.

Forever.

My Thoughts:
I usually give a star rating to books but sometimes it's just to hard to classify a book under a specific rating. I couldn't decide with Divergent and I can't decide with this book as well so I'm not going to give this book a star rating,I'm just going to write my thoughts.

THIS BOOK!

THIS BOOK!

THIS BOOK!

JUST BROKE MY HEART

After reading this book I was roaming around completely depressed for almost a day ! My expression was something like this >

The fact that this book managed to touch my heart and make me count my blessings just shows what an amazing book this is! Yes, this book has it's faults but by the end I was fully invested and completely dejected because I had to wait to load book #2 onto my reading device. To tell you the truth I'm a little scared about what will happen in book #2 .

The characters Drew and Fable are dysfuntional, distressed, dangerous and pretty abnormal. They repress their true feelings and conform to society. When both of them come together , they experience a heavy cocktail of emotions which one of them finds hard to deal with.

Drew was a character that keeps you guessing. His emotions are bottled up and there's a mysterious air around him. Drew can be a pretty frustrating character but all makes sense in the end.

What I want to do to Drew

(I'm Sam .a.k.a Jared and the guy who is totally uncomfortable is Drew)

Fable is a character I have mixed feelings about. She's strong and opinionated but I wanted her to stand up for herself and slap some sense into people who kept calling her a slut.Maybe she'll do that in book #2?

Ms.Murphy make her slap some rude people PLEASE!

You know like this girl here.
WAIT.... Bella slapped someone??? WOAH!

I can't give too many specifics about the story without giving away spoilers but I'll just say that the story is engaging and there is a twist.

The stepmom in this book is so creepy that she makes Disney stepmom's look like amazing stepmothers. I really did not like her. It's been a long time since I hated a character so much!

Overall ,I urge everyone to PICK UP THIS BOOK right now (unless, you're not into romance and can't stand a novel that's a little depressing) It's worth the $1.

ABOUT BOOK #2 ( SPOILERS ahead!

Second Chance Boyfriend (Drew + Fable #2)

Lost. That one single word best describes my life at this very moment. I lost the last games of the season and both my team and my coach blame me. I lost the last two months because I drowned in my own despair like a complete loser. And I lost the only girl who ever mattered because I was afraid being with me would destroy her.

But now I realize how truly lost I am without her. She has become my story…and even though she acts like she’s moved on, I know she still thinks about me just as much as I think about her. She’s beautiful, sweet—and so damn vulnerable, all I want to do is help her. Be there for her.

Love her…

If only I could convince Fable to give me a second chance. Then I wouldn’t feel so lost anymore, and neither would she. We could be found together.

Forever.
