Review: Moon Spell

 Blurb:
Enter a world of fierce wolves, stunning magic and romance...

It’s bad enough feeling different among the human crowd, but feeling different among wolves?

No one said returning to her pack would be easy, especially after ten years without them, but seventeen year old Caia Ribeiro is unprepared for the realities of the transition. Raised in a world where kids aren’t scared by bedtime tales of the bogeyman but by the real life threat of enemy supernaturals who might come creeping into their community to kill them in their sleep, Caia is used to the darkness; she’s used to the mystery and the intrigue of the ancient underworld war she’s bound to by chance of birth. What she’s having trouble with are pack members treating her with wary suspicion, the Elders tucking secrets behind their backs out of her sightline, and her young Alpha, Lucien, distracting her, with a dangerous attraction, from her decision to uncover the truth.

But as the saying goes ‘the truth will out’ and when it does, Caia will only have so long to prepare herself before the war comes pounding on their door threatening to destroy the safe, secret lives of the wolves… and the girl they protect.

YA Paranormal Romance recommended for ages 16 and up.

NOTE: Recommended for Ages 16 and up

My Thoughts:
I cannot believe this book is written by an Indie author! And the other thing I cannot believe is the fact that this book is less than a DOLLAR! Seriously it's for $0.99 ! How is that possible?

I am still in shock!

This book surprised me and it has been one of the most amazing book I've read in quite a long time .

Story

The story is very interesting and I couldn't predict a lot of things.Another great thing about this book is the fact that there are quite a few chapters from Lucien's(a.k.a the guy) point of view.I loved the world and the lore the author introduces  in this novel.I absolutely loved the fact that the author managed to shock me with the various  twists and turns .The ending was also great. This book doesn't end with a cliffhanger but I WANTED MORE.

Characters

Caia

I liked her but I'm not in love with her.She was the weakest link in this book for me but I never hated her.I loved watching her grow in this novel. There were parts when I was really frustrated with her (being blind about a certain friend's feelings ) but I was rooting for her when it counted and I want to read more about her.She has that quiet strength about her that I love in female characters.I loved the fact that she didn't turn into a puddle of goo around a certain guy and stood up for herself.I have a feeling this character will grow on me.

Lucien
I would have put this guy in the jerk category if I hadn't got a peek into his thoughts .I really like Lucien.I really liked him a lot (imagine me swooning while reading about him that's how much I liked him) .I loved his protective side .I'm pretty sure I've overlooked a lot of his problems but I don't care,I  like the guy!

Secondary characters
There were a lot of secondary characters in this book that I really liked.I usually don't remember or even care about the secondary characters but I did care about them in this novel.I think that's one of the reasons I liked this novel so much.I actually liked most of the characters  in it.They all seemed real.

Overall,I loved this novel.Samantha Young has been added to my list of authors to watch out for! You need to give this book a shot  and it's only $0.99 (ebook version last time I checked).WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

I needed book #2  YESTERDAY! I swear if I could enter my own giveaways I would!

Personal rant (please ignore) Why do I have to be broke when I discover any awesome book/series every time? Never mind lots of festivals and holidays coming up .It's time to make the puppy dog.You know what I'm talking about

I'm also making this face so that you BUY/BORROW this book!

My Rating:
4/5

  1. Oooo I love when I fall for a fictional boy so hard that I'm willing to overlook his flaws in favor of swooning:) I've heard great things about this series, and I can't pass up $.99. Get ready for me Lucien!

  2. I'm so glad you enjoyed this one so much! :D I have a hard time finding an indie book that I love but I may have to look into this one. And you had to use Despicable Me. ;) I'm such a sucker for that cute little face!!

  3. Um.... mixed POV? Unpredictable twists and turns? No cliffhanger, but you still wanted more? Secondary characters you legitimtely care about? OKAY, YOU'VE SOLD ME! This sounds like a fantastic read and I'm a sucker for a book that also features the guys perspective and when I'm GENUINELY surprised, rather than predict what's going to happen. Awesome review!

  4. LOL--you make those puppy dog eyes & get someone to buy you the whole series!! (love that gif) Amazing that authors practically give their work away at less than $1, especially when it's a great book.
